Shakati Lodge Complex

Shakati Private Game Reserve has a intimate Lodge complex. The Lodge Complex is there for all to use.

Chalets Inside

The units are spacious and luxurious inside, and caters for all your needs. Some of the Chalets features which is common to all of them are:

  • Fridge/Freezer
  • Gas Plates
  • Warm Water
  • Two Rooms
    • One Double Bed
    • Two Single Beds
    • Two communal beds (Beds which can be used as seating or sleeping)

Nightjar Chalet

Overview

At Shakati means ‘place of abundance’ and Shakati Game Reserve you can take life easy in the Nightjar Chalet. The Chalet boasts several features which includes the ability to sleep between 4-6 people. Nightjar is named after the fiery necked nightjar which is common on Shakati at night. Nightjar is the third Chalet, when you drive into the Shakati lodge Complex then it is the unit in front of you. Nightjar has an excellent view of the bush and garden.

  • Comfortable safari chalet
  • Ability to sleep six people
  • Self-Catering Kitchen (including pots, pans, cutlery, plates, cups, glasses etc)
  • Fridge/Freezer
  • Gas Plates
  • Warm Water
  • Two Rooms
    • One Double Bed
    • Two Single Beds
    • Two communal beds (Beds which can be used as seating or sleeping)
  • One Bathroom
  • Inside Shower
  • Outside Shower
  • Lounge
  • Private Braai Area

All three chalets are situated in the Shakati lodge Complex and is open for use for all guests which includes a beautiful lush garden, swimming pool, separate guest lounge, Lapa and braai area (boma)

What does it look like?

Flycatcher Chalet

Overview

At Shakati means ‘place of abundance’ and Shakati Game Reserve you can take life easy in the Flycatcher Chalet. The Chalet boasts several features which includes the ability to sleep between 4-6 people. Flycatcher is named after the African Paradise Flycatcher which breeds in the summer months in the Shakati Lodge Complex. Flycatcher is the second chalet, when you drive into the Shakati lodge Complex then it is the unit at the right hand back. Flycatcher has an excellent view of the bush, garden and water trough where you can view the Animals and Birds drink water (situated approximately 40 metres away from unit).

The Chalet boasts several features which includes the ability to sleep between 4-6 people. Kingfisher is named after the multiple Kingfishes which occur on Shakati. Kingfisher is the first Chalet, when you drive into the Shakati lodge Complex turn right then it is the unit right in front of you. Kingfisher has an excellent view of the bush, garden and water trough where you can view the Animals and Birds drink water (situated approximately 50 metres away from unit).

SHAKATI BUSH FACTS #13 – GREEN WOOD HOOPOE

Overview

Welcome to the thirteenth edition of Shakati Bush Facts. In this edition, we will be looking at the Green Wood-Hoopoe. The Green Wood-Hoopoe is a common sighting at Shakati Private Game reserve, and definitely livens up the Veld with its distinct call.

Look out for the Green Wood-Hoopoe close to the Chalets or close to the watering hole (you will usually hear them before you see them)

SHAKATI BUSH FACTS #12 – CRITTERS OF THE VELD

Overview

Welcome to the twelve edition of Shakati Bush Facts. In this edition, we will be looking at some of the critters found in the veld. There are some awesome creatures to be found at Shakati if you look closely.
